Kids Aerial and Dance FAQs
We offer beginner level classes for ALL ages! However, we know there may be students who have danced for years prior and are ready for more challenging work. Therefore, students who have had 3+ years prior and recent dance or gymnastics experience may be invited after evaluation to take intermediate/advanced level classes, while also taking basic Level I classes at SOUL. We also recognize we have many students who are have been studying aerial techniques with us in the past year. We are adding higher level classes. To be considered for these upper level classes, students must be enrolled in classes this semester and be given approval by their instructor at the end of the semester to move to the next level. Students must also meet the Pre-requisites listed for each class. Please keep in mind, your child's development, growth, and safety are our top priorities and we evaluate their placement based on our industry expertise. We believe in smart and safe training, strong foundation and proper development so your child receives nothing but the best education at SOUL.
We offer easy online registration for your child and endeavor to make your registration experience as seamless as possible. You may register for classes online only. If you have questions, we ask that you call us for assistance. For current families, your Auto Enrollment guarantees your child's space, so there is no need to re-register your child. We encourage all families to register early due to the popularity of many of our classes.
We are a developing studio and sometimes a class does not meet the minimum enrollment, which is normally 3 - 4 students. Should this occur, we will offer options for your child or we may combine classes. Should this happen, we will inform you as soon as we make that decision.
Absolutely not! Aerial and Dance are for everyone at any age. SOUL Aerial prides itself on being the perfect starting point for beginners of every age. Being comfortable and having fun is important and you will find that here!
Our professional, experienced faculty loves to learn more about your child. If you child has aerial, dance or gymnastics experience, we would like to see your child in a summer class to help properly place them in our program. Our class placement takes ability and previous experience into consideration to help maximize a child's confidence and growth.
We recommend children take a class during the summer to see if they love classes at SOUL. We are unable to offer trying a class during the season due to the progressive nature of the classes. If you would like to tour our facility, please click this link: https://www.calendly.com/soulaerial to schedule your tour.
We highly recommend calling the studio with questions before you register your child. Our SOUL Concierge & Sparkle Coordinator is always happy to receive your call and answer all your questions!
Due to the popularity of our program, a 95% retention rate of students, and small class size we may have a waitlist for some of our classes. Being on the Priority Wait List means you get first access to early enrollment before we release our classes to the public.
Unfortunately, we do not offer discounts. Due to the nature of our program, the exceptional quality, professionally trained and highly experienced faculty, and sparkling experience, we believe our prices are fair.
You may be wondering where is a schedule of classes? Don't worry, we get that question often. Simply put, we create a new schedule each year based on our families schedules. Now, we do have a handful of classes that never change from year to year, but many of our classes can be shifted as needed. Some of our families want to take multiple classes or take the same aerial class a few times a week. By asking our families about their schedules and the classes your child wants to take during the registration process, we can create a beautifully tailored schedule that meets the demands of a busy family. We do things a little differently at SOUL, but let's face it we are no ordinary studio and we believe in making magic on a daily basis. Need to talk schedules through? Contact us and we will be happy to chat more!
First, always give us a call at the studio to chat about why, your child's experience means everything to us and we want them to be happy. Although we hate to see children leave, all parents must agree and sign a financial agreement at the beginning of the season, and tuition is due regardless of child's attendance throughout the season.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Our trained, qualified staff have aerial rigging training and well as countless years of knowledge and background in aerial and performing arts. Our equipment is certified and inspected regularly by a professional aerial rigger and our team. With small class sizes and placement by ages, this increases the safety of our classrooms by allowing our faculty to have focused and individualized attention for the children. In addition, we understand the current state of COVID-19. SOUL Aerial is meeting and exceeding all sanitation recommendations from the CDC, along with following all protocols from the federal, state and local governments. We are always available to discuss our safety protocol.
Our entire faculty are not only experienced teachers, but professional, degreed dancers and have performed on international stages as dancers and/or aerialists. We believe dance technique and performance training only increase an aerialists abilities, talent, and growth. While we love being in the air, being comfortable moving on the ground is just as important. We have seen tremendous growth in the students who participate, and they are able to really shine both on and off stage.
We absolutely will NOT recommend the purchase or practice of any aerial arts at home as this is a huge safety issue and concern. If you would like more information, we have a wonderful packet of information to share on the dangers and concerns of rigging at home. Safety first is our top priority and we ask our families to share in this approach for the safety and well-being of your child. Simply put, your child should not have an apparatus at home or endeavor to learn on their own due to the safety and potentially fatal mistakes that could happen.
