POLE CLASSES

Want to give pole a try?  Learn the basics in this beginner class.  Classes at this level will incorporate floor work, dance, spinning moves, static upright poses, basic climbs and conditioning to prepare for inversions. There is no inverting at this level when the student’s entire body is on the pole. Classes may use both spinning and static poles.

Pole Level II— Classes at this level will incorporate inversions from the ground, descending inversions, climb variations, intermediate spins, and floor work combinations. The student’s body will maintain 3 points of contact with the pole while inverted. Classes will build on transitional fluidity as well as preparations for more advanced spins and pole dismounts. Classes may use both spin and static poles.

AERIAL CLASSES

This 4 week session class is the perfect introductory course to all of the Aerial apparatuses at SOUL.  You will explore Lyra, Static Trapeze and Silks.  Working on the basic fundamentals of each apparatus and learning some beautiful movements and tricks along the way.  It’s a great way to get your feet wet with all of the aerial styles at SOUL!

Lyra is designed to work on various techniques to enter and exit the hoop along with conditioning exercises. Classes will build strength, showcase flexibility and teach flips, turns, rolls, and transitions. Classes will progress into fluid choreographed sequences.

Come join this class and gain the flexibility, body awareness, strength and conditioning!  Aerialists need upper body strength and this program is specifically designed with to increase the stamina needed to work in aerial equipment.  Using the lyra to help increase your overall body conditioning and flexiblity, you will see the results you are looking for in this amazing fitness class! Join us for this NEW yoga and pilates inspired aerial silk hammock class. We will focus on strength, balance, spatial awareness, alignment and stability. Students learn yoga and Pilates principles using the silk hammocks to build strength and flexibility. Movements will be connected to breath, leaving students feeling more centered, grounded and aligned.

Static Trapeze is designed to work on various techniques to enter and exit the apparatus along with conditioning exercises.  Classes will build strength, showcase flexibility and teach flips, turns, rolls and transitions.  Classes will progress into fluid choreographed sequences.  This class is perfect for beginners.

Join us for this new class at SOUL!  Working with 2 pieces of hanging fabric (Silks) rather than a hammock.  Students will learn basic silks conditioning, how to climb and descend the silks safely, single foot locks with beginner poses. This class is perfect for beginners.

DANCE CLASSES

Shimmy and undulate your way to fun, fitness and self-esteem in this Beginner Bellydance class with Richmond’s international bellydance instructor, Madame Onça. Dancers will explore the beginning techniques of bellydance, learn the history and so much more!

Get ready to work those legs in this fun and energetic HOT & SEXY Heels class mixed with the “Flava” of Hip Hop!  Bring your favorite pair of heels and your inner vixen to this amazing new and exclusive dance class!

Get ready to work on long lean legs, extension, flexibility and tone and tighten those muscles!  Ballet Barre is for anyone looking to lengthen their body through a full body workout, which is slow and controlled working muscles you didn’t know existed.  Feel stronger, longer and goregeous after this workout!

Ballet is the foundation of dance technique.  Whether you are a former ballerina, took ballet when you were a child or just want to try it, this ballet class will leave you feeling graceful & strong.  We will explore a full ballet barre, terminology and center work that will be perfect for all skill levels.  Ballet shoes may be ordered at the studio if needed.

Adult Parkour focuses on basic conditioning and tumbling you learn to maneuver your way around and through obstacles! Parkour is a great way to have fun and get fit at the same time. We will focus on spatial awareness, balance, quick decisions by learning extreme physical movements that are safe and smart. Fundamentals include rolling, jumping, falling, swinging and climbing, Feel empowered and re-charged after this fast paced cardio filled class. Don’t forget your water bottle!
